Getting Started as a Studio

A studio account lets you manage your dancers, their partnerships, and their competition entries all in one place — without each dancer needing their own login. This guide walks through what you can do with a studio account and how to do it.

Creating your studio account

Sign up with your email, your studio's name, and a password. Your account is ready to use right away — there's no waiting period or approval step. You'll receive a welcome email once you're signed up.

Managing your dancers

From the Dancers page, you can add anyone you coach to your roster by entering their first name, last name, and email address. You don't need their permission or a password from them — this creates a profile you manage on their behalf. Only your studio can see or edit the dancers you've added.

A couple of things to know:

• Double-check the spelling of a dancer's name and email before saving. At the moment, these can't be edited after you add them.
• New dancers are set up with your studio's country, state, school, and studio information by default, so you don't have to re-enter it — but their professional/teacher status and membership numbers (NDCA, USA Dance) start blank and need to be added separately.
• Dancers you add can't log into their own account yet. If a dancer wants to manage their own profile going forward, reach out for help getting them set up.

Keeping dancer profiles up to date

Select any dancer on your roster to view and update their profile — country, state, school, studio, professional/teacher status, and membership numbers. You can make changes any time.

Setting up partnerships

On the Partnerships page, pair up two dancers from your roster as lead and follow. Because both dancers are already on your roster, the partnership is created immediately — there's no invitation or acceptance step needed (this is different from how two independent athletes would pair up on their own, which does require both people to agree).

You'll only see partnerships made up of your own dancers.

Entering competitions

The Registration page is where you sign your dancers up for competitions. Choose the dancer (for solo events) or partnership (for partnered events), pick the competition and events, and submit the entry. Your Dashboard gives you a running view of upcoming competitions where your dancers are entered.

One thing to keep in mind: entries aren't currently blocked once a competition's registration period has technically closed, so it's worth confirming with the organizer that registration is still open before entering a dancer.

Creating team entries

For events that accept teams, build a team right from the registration page: give it a name and add members from your roster. You can create more than one team for the same event if needed.

As the person who created the team, you're the only one who can rename it, change its members, or remove the entry later. If you remove a dancer from a team, their spot in that competition is automatically cleared unless they're still entered some other way (solo, with a partner, or on another team).

Your studio portal has four main areas: Dashboard (upcoming competitions and entries), Dancers (your roster and their profiles), Partnerships (creating and viewing pairings), and Registration (entering dancers, partnerships, and teams into competitions).
