Restarting a Round
Overview
Restarting a Round clears out its judging progress and puts it back to Queued, so it can be run again from the start. It's used when a round needs to be redone — for example, marks were submitted incorrectly and need a clean slate.
Restarting is a Round Manager action available to Scrutineer. It clears all marks submitted for the round and cannot be undone.
What Happens When You Restart a Round
- For each of the round's dances, submitted marks are deleted — placements, if this is the Final round, or recalls, for every other round.
- Each round dance's status resets to Queued.
- The round's status resets to Queued, and its start and end times are cleared.
- The change is pushed out in real time, so Adjudicator, Emcee, and Deck Captain views update automatically.
Restarting only clears marks — it does not remove or change the round's entries, so the same competitors remain in the round and Start can be used to run it again.
Conditions for Restarting a Round
A round can be restarted only if all of the following are true:
- The round hasn't been Finalized. Once a round's results are finalized, it can no longer be restarted.
- The round is In Progress or Completed. Restart isn't offered for a round that hasn't started yet (Created or Queued) or that's already been Skipped.
How to Restart a Round
- Open the competition's Scrutineer view and go to Round Manager.
- Select the round you want to restart from the side navigation.
- In the Round Control panel, click Restart.
- Confirm in the dialog — this resets all submitted marks and cannot be undone.
Once confirmed, the round shows a Queued status badge again, and Start becomes available to run it once more.
